Manny Macias Villanueva


Manny is a native of Southern California. He received training in dance and art-making from Cal Poly Pomona. At the beginning of his college career, he was introduced to color guard and drum and bugle corps.


Manny’s performance credits include such groups as Pacific Crest Drum and Bugle Corps, Lealta Winter Guard, Santa Clara Vanguard Drum and Bugle Corps, Fantasia Winter Guard, and various school-related and professional dance performance ensembles. Manny’s teaching credits include Upland High School Color Guard, Eleanor Roosevelt High School Color Guard, and most recently, Rancho Verde High School Crimson Regiment where he was recently promoted to Caption Manager for the color guard.


Being an educator in the marching band and pageantry realm has led him to pursue his California Teaching Credential, as well as a graduate degree in dance. This is Manny’s second year with Watchmen Drum and Bugle Corps, and his first year as the color guard caption head.

Maritza Ramirez

Color Guard Technician


Maritza Ramirez comes to us from Southern California where she has been a part of the color guard community since 2005 having 12 years of performance experience.


She has performed at the middle school, high school, and college level. With groups like Pacific Crest Drum and Bugle Corps, RCC Marching Band, RCC All-stars Band and the world famous winter guard Fantasia. Maritza’s teaching credits include Palm Middle School, Lakeside Middle School, Canyon Springs High School, Patriot High School and Rancho Verde High School.


She has also gone on to study at the University of California, Riverside where she has received her undergraduate degree and is currently using that degree to work in the Moreno Valley Unified School District and the Val Verde Unified School District. This will be Maritza’s first year with the Watchmen Drum and Bugle Corps.

Crystal Lissette Ortiz

Color Guard Technician


Crystal Lissette Ortiz is a Southern California native having 7 years of color guard experience. She marched four years with the Riverside Kingsmen followed by three years of teaching.


She is currently the captain head at Orange Vista High School and March Middle School. In addition to teaching Crystal is pursuing a career in marriage and family counseling. She is studying for her undergraduate degree at the University of California Riverside.
